LARP Renaissance Rapier by BenGunI LARP Renaissance Rapier by BenGunI
I made this rapier for a friend of mine and I'm pretty happy with it. It was the first rapier I ever made and only the 7th weapon alltogether. So I learnd very much by making this, even if it isn't perfect. The design is of a simple elegance and not too splendit, perfect for a lesser nobleman. The hilt is fortified with cable ties to make it more robust.

Length: 107 cm
Blade length: 79 cm
Weight: 476 g
Centre of mass: directly at the edge of the first ring at the blade

What material did you use on the blade of the sword?
And in the core? Fiber glass?

Greetings from Brazil.

Thanks for your interest! Yes, the core is a rod made of glass fiber reinforced plastic with 10x5 mm, but after finishing I noticed it is a bit too flexible for my taste. Next time I use a 10x8 mm rod. The material for the rest of the weapon is foam calles Plastazote. All the materials are common for building LARP weapons in Germany an can be bought in several shops (mainly online).
